Butik-A to MPD
MPD began as Butik-A by designers Bediz and Azmi Koz. Butik-A, which opened in Ankara in 1958, became known to be as an exceptional attempt to provide and produce designs that were far from the mainstream appetite of the period, offering a great promise for design.
With one set of furniture including a sideboard, dining table, chairs, armchairs, sofas, a desk, serving cart, and tables, the selection of items was far from arbitrary. Instead, it was the relocation of a real living room (salon). Since their start, the company continues to expand the designs it produces and offers. Still to this day, the designs always follow a placid sensitivity in furniture design and production of the time.
